It's 80 degrees today...
...and there's snow on top of the local mountains.
Who can ask for more????

`Craig, LOL ~ LOL,
I rather look @ the `Positives
To be able to take a swim/surf the Pacific,
see the beautiful girls in`bikini's, & then, going `up to the mountain
and snow boarding down to the Chalet for drinks : ).
I haven't been there in person, but I have on the `web : )
We all are so fortunate to be able to choose where, and who
we live with : )I'm really thankful to be living in a free,
awesome country. We have it `all : ) WoW...
Thanks for posting/sharing : )

RE: Do You Like, Where You Live ?
lol, gotta love southern cali....
hey space.. i guess thats Oxford.. I recognize 2 of the houses but I ahve no idea where that building to the left is.. the picture you had before, i found it and it claims its Oxford's post office, but I've never seen any building like that anywhere around here.
Here is Oxford:
The Courthouse
Here is a bad pictare of main street: the courthouse isn't visible, but is at teh end of the street on the right and the post office is just out of the picture to the left on the opposite side of the road.
Here is Revlon, the factory that employee's like half the town. When my dad worked for Rex out of Henderson, we went to the place all the time. I have had a hand in dropping and hooking many a trailer there. My neighbor had a crash in the intersection in the bottom left. Most of the old downtown Oxford is south of here (which is up in the picture).
And the main exit of hte 3 exits for Oxford... you can see the Burger King sign and a Ramada Inn sign (this must be a couple years old, that hotel is closed now.)
Don't let the nice smooth road full you... most roads around here are just "eh". We got a good interstate though Minimum ground clearance for the main downtown driving is 12 feet, hehe.
I found a site with pictures of fire departments. This is the volunteer fire department approximatly 8 tenths of a mile from me (I know because its at the corner of Highwya 15 and Lewis Road, I run to 15 for exercise sometimes). I didn't even know a picture of this small place existed. I never noticed the Handicap sign was on it either (I knew about the no parking). Odd... I didn't know we had Handicap fire fighters here:O
And incase you are wondering where all this wonderfulness is, here you go.
Space (and any other Monte Carlo Forum member), if you want a full tour of town, stop by, it shoudln't take anymore than about 10 mins or so to show you everything

RE: Do You Like, Where You Live ?
The major town around here, where most people from Oxford go to get their kicks and giggles is Henderson, which is just as old if not older.I used to live on the main drag thru this town, Dabney Drive (I'm a city boy, hehe). DO NOT confuse this with Hendersonville, it is HENDERSON, the difference is 300 miles or so.
This is actually a famous building in Henderson. The fire department and the big clock on top of it off Garnett Street (we have a HUGE car show here every October on that street
Here is the "historic" downtown Henderson... the fire department clock is visible to the right. The big green steeple towards the middle-right is the church my mom got married in the first time.

RE: Do You Like, Where You Live ?
you should move to Oxford, NC RJ.. we got a nice lake, maybe you can take me fishing
Here is the beautiful Kerr Lake, located just 20 miles or so north of Oxford and Henderson... its a very large lake actually, althoguh right now it is VERY low due ot the drought.
