That's too bad. He's losing out on a lot of offers.

Hey all, I install carpet for a living, was at a repeat customers house today who used to be into racing pretty much. Anyway, we got to talking about Monte's, I had seen one he had in his garage a few years ago, forgot about what kind it was. Anyway, he's selling it, it's a Dale Earhart Daytona 500, now I don't know much about these, so don't bite my head off, just going by what he told me. 2004, autographed, white with the red stripes, and #8 on trunk, 800 miles on it, says he wants $45, 000?? Just passing it on, like I said, I don't know anything about it, he says they were only 8 made? I have the guys number if it's for real.

Thanks Warhorse.

I remember there was another member who had a 6th gen Monte he bought brand new from Earnhardt Chevy in NC. It was blue with the DEI stripes. And his was a one of two made by the dealership. Earnhardt Chevy has a history of making limited editions like that.

Not getting on your case. You're just the messenger. But $45,000 seems kind of steep. Even if it is a 1 of 8 made.

Does he have pictures on the web somewhere? Cardomain, etc?

Hi Taz!! LOL, I thought that was a bit much myself, but then I wouldn't buy any car cost that much, no matter what it is!! He said he had it on ebay once, but not sure if he has anywhere else? I told him about the Forum, don't know if he will look into it or not.

I'm sure it's a spectacular car. And a REAL collectible, being only 1 of 8. But it sounds like it needs to be in the Barrett-Jackson auction. Not on ebay or craigslist. I don't think he's going to get a whole lot of interest otherwise. It sounds like a car for someone who's willing to store it in a climate controlled environment, on display or something.

Why did they not unwrap the fourth one for the picture? Perhaps it's not like the others? And it looks like they've seen better days.
