I don't think any of the 6th gen Signature Series Montes will ever truely be real valuable collector's items. But I think the 2005 Tony Stewart edition might have the best chance.

It had a low production number to begin with. Only 1,020 I believe. (someone correct me if I'm wrong) Compared to 4,000 Intimidator editions the year before. But more importantly because of what happened to the #20 car in Nascar. Tony quit driving it (and eventually became #14), the #20 car became a Toyota, and has had a couple different drivers since he left. Plus Tony Stewart hasn't quite reached the fame level of other huge names like Dale Earnhardt Sr.

I think 2002 and 2004 Dale Earnhardt Montes are more plentiful. Not just because of the increased build number (3,333 and 4,000 respectively), but also because of the reasons I stated above. Because of that, most Tony Stewart editions ended up just being driven around like an everyday Monte. Not a rolling shrine, like the Dale Earnhardt Montes. I've seen some people who peeled the #20 decals off of the car, and put the headrests and mats up on ebay.

For those reasons, I think a mint condition Tony Stewart edition has the best chance at being a real collectible someday. SOMEDAY! But not for a long time.

The attention spent on the outside was not applied to the inside as well. but still a fun weekend cruiser.

I like Dale Earnhardt. But that poor aerocoupe. I'm sorry. But I would have to remove the decals off of it.
