Seriously. What are they smoking on the hill? I might go buy two old beaters and trade them in, and take the money to upgrade the Monte, or buy a gun.

Congress can kiss THIS!!!!
Every sinking one of them. And they can being the senators + the house jerks if they want.
We can make it a party for all I care.
These people are so out of touch with the common man it's not funny.
Congress could care less about you or me. They're TOO busy voting themselves in another raise. Plus they wives get a salary you pay for, too. It's like $80 - $100k/year.
Will some please explain this one to me?
I'd like to know where they think they're going to getANY salary from when none of us have a stinking job?
Okay, I'm off my soap box.

the site is clearly biased against this... what more likely happened is that jsut one radical congressman of the 435 in the HoR proposed this... more than likely it is going to be tabled or killed. if it had serious support, it would be on the news. actually, they are willing to offer more than our old rarely driven 1993 Silverado is worth

All I've seen/read even on the SEMA newsletters they are only offering like $1500 for any vehicle.
And I have to agree $1500 isn't going to make that much of a difference as far as buying a NEW cars or truck goes. It's just plain rediculous.
They will be after your dad's '51 truck by the way if this passes.
