Default Chicago get away ideas?

We are heading to Chicago next weekend, and I'm looking for ideas on something for Saturday night, and also suggestions for a good but affordable and safe place to stay down town. We intended on going to the House of Blues, but I'm not sure about the "Cowboy Mouth w/ Junior Brown show. I'm thinking we can do better than that for less money, and have a better time. For Sunday Night we are planning on going to Second City Comedy Club, and I'm pretty comfortable with that. during the day will be Shedd's Aquarium and ???

Any suggestions for a motel/hotel and Saturday night?

Shedd's Aquarium is AMAZING!!!! Make sure you leave your whole day open for it though lol I was there for most of the day and I still didn't get to see everything. But then again I read every lil description and take LOTS of pictures bcuz i'm such a marine freak =D heard they remodeled half of it though so idk how that part is

There's always Silvers pad if you want to experiance the gangster Wayne.. Shed is "AMAZING" as someone has said just remember flippers so you can swim in the reef tank and feed the sharks...That can eat up the day but honestly Theres also the Museum of science and industry and the field museum. Oprahs pad the cubby bear

best western i believe on ohio street would be good place for you to stay cuz it's in the center of downtown. would be a walking distant to: rain forest cafe, espn zone, futurestic McDonald never went there since it was remodel but it's huge with all hi-tech and cool thing from what i heard, hard rock cafe..and many more sight seeing. will take a whole day to do this sight/seeing better get up early. couple low budget eatery like dick's last resort, eddie davetic, portello, and many more that i can't think of i'm sure you're run into them. have a blast!!

I went with my son and a school group a couple years ago. We had some sort of city pass booklet so we went to all the main attractions. The museum of science and industry was by far our favorite but we're really into that kind of stuff, second was the aquarium. It took a long time to walk through everything though so we were only able to go to a couple of places each day.

oh btw if you happen to go up the sears tower they now have a 1" thick glass deck that you can walk out in mid air and look 1000 ft down the city. probably would be fun if you not afraid of height.
