Bi-Monthly photo contest "Sunrise/Sunset"
Well I will call this one Sunset in Waterloo! Had to chase this one for a few miles to get the right shot. It has been so cloudy here that either sunset of sunrise is tough to find.
Fun theme by the way, it would be a real cool shot at Daytona Beach, or the Grand Canyon.

No license plate and the front tire looks like it is barely making contact. LOL, your pranking us. When I enlarge it the red stripe is really warped, The trunk bowtie and trunk key hole are weird. You are trying to see who can spot a prank... Come on, fess up!

HA, HA
Just checking to see how observant you all are?
Actually this is an Action 1/18 scale Dale Monte Carlo 02. There is nothing in the Rules that says you can't use a model, only that it needs to be a Monte Owned by the photographer. This one is.
This is an example of Forced Perspective, I took this photo at about 7:30 or so the other evening on the south west side of Waterloo, IA. From the top of my Rental Car which is a Dark Gray Volkswagen Jetta, the reason you see the reflection on the surface. I just wish there was more color in the sky?
Not long ago when we had the Tunnels for the subject matter I had to use a 1/24th scale Monte that I owned on a Railroad layout that I own because there just aren't any tunnels that I know of in Nebraska to flat.
On the Tunnels there were only me and Juniorcar that were entries I even got 1 vote.
I will have to take a few more pics of the details on this car as you can almost get it enlarged and drive it away the antenna was something they did on this one back in 02 when they were trying to enhance the reception of Cell-phones this was a stock feature on some of the original cars. I recall back then you could be parked by a cell tower and if it wasn't the one that your carrier had you couldn't get a signal from it one place in Iowa tried to charge me for the use and called to ask for a CC #.
I have been away from home now since October got home for Christmas and this is a fun activity that I have been able to participate in.
Otherwise I would have to take up drinking and chasing wild women, and that's to expensive?

Uh! You almost had my vote... until you mentioned that there is a VW in the shot! I hate VW, even if it's only a rental. I'm cool with the rest of the trickery.
Maybe you can win this contest, then name the next theme "Yellow Waterfalls" and use the VW again

But they didn't have any Chevys that they could give me this time.
The one thing I really don't care for is you can't start the thing up and let it run and then lock it with a second key so I have to pull it under the Hotel Canopy and stand there and watch it while it warms up.
The Cruze had the engine shut off feature and if you have not experienced that before you are wanting to 2 pedal it. But it will kick right back on after the light changes red to green.
The worst thing they ever gave me was a YARIS it didn't have Cruise, power windows, or remote locks. What a piece of junk that was I had a tendinitis in my shoulder and to stop at a drive thru to get a coffee was really painful.

Nice, very creative, that's how one wins in life, exploit weaknesses in the system. I had to laugh, you did a pretty trick convincing shot at first glance, congrats! You are the man, I want to be on your team if we ever go to battle. You stayed within the parameters of the contest rules, nicely played.

Perhaps there is room for another photo contest based on what Drive Number 3 did. Use miniatures and close up photography. One could stage scenes, could be a creative way to have another activity here on the forum. Montes in crashes burning, Montes at the beach etc. Any ones thoughts on this??
All models of the 06-07 are Nascar or race versions. There's regular civilian models of the 00-05 - I have a yellow 04 SS High Sport (matched my 03 SS when I had that car).

Here is an idea you could possible take a 1:18 diecast race car 2006 and remove the body from the Chassis and then get the 2005 1:18 diecast Sunstar brand that is the street version and take the body off it and mount the race body to the street version.
It would be a challenge but I think it could be done. I have done custom mods on them before for folks, the only thing is the paint is usually a powder coat the decals come right off with acetone.
link to finding the diecast.
