I'd have to disagree with the guys stating corvette...it is not a Muscle Car, But Rather a Sports Car IMO.

IMO

If we are going to split hairs Camaros, Challengers and Mustangs would probably fall into a pony car category, and if you want to go to even further lengths most peoples thoughts of "muscle cars" are 60s and 70's... GN and GNX are 80's. Think we are going a bit overboard here.

For giggles and grins, from wikipedia (yeah I know)Popular Questions
What Makes a Muscle Car? Muscle car is a term used to refer to a variety of high performance automobiles.[1] The Merriam-Webster definition is more limiting, "any of a group of American-made 2-door sports coupes with powerful engines designed for high-performance driving."[2] The term generally refers to 2-door rear wheel drive mid-size cars, and sometimes full-size cars equipped with large, powerful, V8s, and sold at an affordable price for street use and both formal and informal drag racing

I'd also have to throw in the 1970 Road Runner - IDK it's a toss up between the Hemi and the 440 six pack with the air grabber hood option.

Oh the Road Runner, I forgot that one. Yeah, that is definitely one hot babe of a car. The pointy front end I'm not sure about, but hell, it's a great car.

I've got my favorite in my signature.... but I'm biased....

Most of my favorite cars come from the 1970 model year.

Such as the '70 Challenger

The '70 Cougar Eliminator...

The '70 Chevelle, already pictured...

Can't beat a red Chevelle in my opinion!!

Other than that, probably the '68 Fastback Mustang...

The '71 Roadrunner...

So there you go... from all the big three!!!!!

As far as early '60s go... I generally prefer the Chevrolet Corvettes, up until about '66 or so. After that, I prefer the Ford's... the Mustangs, Fairlanes, and Torinos from about '66-69. '69 was the last great year of the Ford's appearance wise to me... the Mustangs went to junk, interior and looks and everything. The Torino's were okay, but not like the '68-9 in my opinion. Mustangs got really cramped inside... I sat in a '71 one time and couldn't hardly stand how they are layed out. From '69-70, I usually prefer the Chevelle and the Camaro. In '70-71 on out, I generally prefer Mopar products... I think their styling and interiors were better, plus throughout the whole muscle car era, there was plenty of power and it usually just got more plentiful as the years went by. The early Dodge's and Plymouth's were just ugly cars though.

1970 was definitely a great year for American Muscle! I also forgot to mention the other A body cars like the Olds 442 and Buick GS Stage 1!
