Seconded! I can only dream. Though I swear I would sell my soul to own the Hemi Cuda or the 69 Camaro... sigh. Nice article, it was interesting! Definitely made for a great start to my day.

What I love about them is that the average person would say it is 'kinda cool', while a car guy would offer up his right arm, left leg, first born, etc.

I don't think I've ever heard them described that perfectly.

The 1969 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 was a high-performance Camaro produced in limited numbers to be sold to the public. The public sales allowed the car to qualify to enter the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) drag racing competition. The ZL1 was expensive and limited mostly to just one Chevrolet dealership, although a handful were ordered by other dealers in North America
The ZL1 originated as a Super Sport 396 with a performance F41 sportsuspension. The SS package was removed and the 396-cubic-inch V-8 was replaced with an all-aluminum 427 that weighed only 500 pounds, which was similar in weight to a Chevrolet small-block 327. The 427 generated 430 horsepower and 450 foot-pounds of torque. The engine could be tuned to generate 524 gross horsepower if it was equipped with a four-barrel, specially tuned carburetor, tuned ignition and racing headers, and if it was stripped of the air cleaner and accessories, such as air conditioning. Reports of a 575-horsepower ZL1 were never verified. Power was transmitted through a four-speed, close-ratio manual transmission or the Turbo Hydramatic automatic.
