been an up and down day
So lastnight I was driving home from work and I want to hit the breaks to stop at the light, and to my surprise, my foot went to the floor. No breaks. Luckly, Dodge did something right in that it had a dual breaking system, so I was still able to cautiously drive it around. Trying to figure out what the problems way, it was getting late, and cold, so I said screw it and decided to take it to a shop so they can diagnose the problem. Well I took it in this morning, and got a call later in the morning.
Mechanic: I looked at the van and they break lines from the distribution box to the left rear is shot.
Me: OK
Mechanic: oh, and we also noticed that the rear discs are touching metal to metal so you will beed rear breaks and cylinder
Me: OK
Mechanic: Oh and there is a small gas line leak that will need to be fixed.
Me: OK
Mechanic: and also, your rear tires are about 90% worn and we suggest changing those as well.
So to make a long story short I said no thanks, and went to get the van and the bill to have all those thing done would have been $1,400.
So I decided that I would get the Monte back on the road earily, so I can deal with fixing the van myself over the summer.

RE: been an up and down day
yeah i dont blame ya a bit.
I think i would get a brake line and a set of brakes. and do the work real quick
then i would check the fule line while i was there but im betting it was not damaged.
or it might have a leaking filter LOL
What is wrong with the monte?
hope it warms up for ya soon. i feel for ya as i enjoy the 90deg. warmth and the spring break ruggies comming threw with littel to nothing on in some cases LOL
