In Canada, a company called Petro-Canada bought out Sunoco's Canadian stations this year.

Completely ruined them in my opinion. Kept the 94 octane gas. But got rid of the service. Sunoco stations used to have full and self serve, friendly employees, touch free car wash with an attendant who pre-rinsed your car for you and guided you into the car wash. And lots of pumps.

Petro-Canada took over, and fired all the Sunoco employees, removed half the pumps (no more full serve), and made the car wash completely un-manned. You have to get your car onto the track yourself. You gotta try to eyeball the track and hope your front wheel is lined up properly. And a station that used to be attended by 4 or 5 employees at all times, is now manned by one person who never leaves his chair inside the building.

Customer service went down the sewer. But they still have the 94 octane though. That's the only good thing about it.

Also, if you didnt know (and this is quoted right out of "rolling stone")
"BP has recieved 760 citations out of 761 against oil refiners for egregious safety violations."
I wonder how this is gonna impact the future of BP?? What do you think?

I've had surging and hard starting with BP gas for as long as I can remember, even does it without the cat, I think they just have a lower grade fuel. KwikTrip, Conoco, etc never give me any issues.

I'll let you guys in on a little secret. I've seen the "Gas farms" with the multiple, huge gas tanks sticking out of the ground.... and when you see them at 3-4 a.m. (as I have with my dad trucking to various places), you would see trucks lined up... Sheetz, Conoco, BP, Hess, Exxon, and any other company you can think of are all lined up at the same tanks getting the same fuel pumped into their tankers. The detergents and additives are added as packets into the fuel tankers before the fuel is poured into them. As far as I can tell, the only difference in any brand or grade of fuel is a couple of packs of detergent or additives. Apparently, all of these oil companies have some little deal worked out where they all refine gas and use each others stuff all across the country.

Well that gas they are putting into those tanks I'm sure is just crude oil...?

Wouldn't each company would have it's own facility to refine the oil into their brand of gasoline?

Doesn't make sense other wise.

Nope, it's refined fuel... it goes straight from there to the pumps that you buy it from. Dead serious. We've got two huge gas farms here in NC. One of them caught fire a couple of weeks ago. Apparently they all have some sort of deal where they all refine each others oil worked out or something.

Well maybe what these companies are doing then is putting cut into the gas to stretch it out.
