Bad carpeting on drivers door

Question Bad carpeting on drivers door

well the carpeting on the lower part of my driver door is stained and falling off (related to soda can explosion while it sat for years ). i think i wanna remove the carpet and paint it dark torredor or black what do you guys think?

I would suggest to re-carpet in black (if u can)

I'm more experienced with paint then carpet and i have to redo my back bumper because it has peeled alittle so i was figuring i could do it off the same can. how hard would it be to do carpet especially price wise?

I have seen short napped carpet (used for car trunks) at Advance auto and auto zone (I didn't price it but they should be inexpensive. Use your old carpet you take off as a pattern cut the new to shape and glue it in

it is falling apart though i have superglued it where its peeling and it just comes back off

I'd go with black carpet. I know it's easier for you to do paint. But black plastic is over rated. My 6th gen is mostly black plastic inside. Too much plastic makes the interior look cheap. And takes away from the luxury aspect of the Monte's.

I would definitely not put light grey carpet back on the doors. Gets dirty too easily.

I would recarpet also. it will be easier than you think. use a thin carpet like the kind you find on speaker boxes. i think they sell it pretty much anywhere(walmart,home depot,,autozone) and attach it with super77 spray adhesive.

lol ill do it this summer and guess what a guy in an 05 v6 stang wanted to reac me lmao too bad i was allergic and headed to cvs to get bendryll i woulda giv him a run for his money
