Default Auto machanics or auto body?

So instead of spending my senior year stuck in classes all day i have the option to go to what would be a trade school for half a day.You can start in 11th(which i am) so i will only be able to do half the corse. They would both be fun to me,auto machanics dosent do much under the hood the first year but i would be doing alot of everything else and auto body coming outta there i could get a low paying job (neither of these will be long term jobs) but i figure auto machanics i would use alot more instead of paying a garage the rest of my life to do work for me which i would love to do! What i am really getting at is which one would be best to take?

Heres the links to what it gives online:

Go to autotech and gain experience on all of the newer vehicle systems is the best rather than auto body, in my mind. Is this going to be just to gain knowledge or your career of choice?

Well if not a career than to gain more knowledge because i love hands on work with pretty much anything with a motor lol. Only downside is that i wouldnt be doing under the hood work because the first year is chassie and everything else and second year is under the hood, and i will be in 12th grade next year so i will only get the first year lol

Auto Mechanics is always a great skill to learn. You will save a ton of money just in general maintenance alone. Plus it's a lot easier than the trial and error method

i did autobody because it was like step one imo. it has a little mechanics here and there but it gives you a taste for what its like being in the shop!

I would go the auto body route. Technology in auto body isn't changing as fast as auto mechanics is. The skills you learn in auto mechanics today are obsolete in five years. You have to keep learning just to try to keep up.

I'd take the auto body course. It's easy to learn about mechanics in your driveway. To be honest, I don't think I ever learned a thing in a mechanics class. Its just time spent working on cars that you learn from. A auto body course will teach you things you would otherwise never learn witHout investing a lot of money. And paint these days (especially VOC compliant) is too expensive to learn by trial-and-error. It's a great skill to have and learn on someone else's dime
