So this kid that I know at school has this idea that he wants to become a rapper. He's posted a few videos on YouTube and I want to know what some of you think. Vote yes (you like it) or no (you don't like it).
He's only a sophomore in high school and needs some feedback (be honest). Here's a link to the video:

When it comes to music I look for lyrical content regardless of musical style. It doesn't matter if it's hip hop, rock, country, etc. But that's the reason I voted no on the poll. This song is all about money and there was bad language in the song too. Maybe it's just me, but I don't understand how people can support something like that.

The music is banging, but the style is way too monotonous. He doesn't inflict any kind of changes to his voice so the whole song kind of sounds the same. Cursing isn't a big deal for me but the guy needs some singing lessons or something. Maybe learning how to control his breath?

Ty Fresh, that sounds like somthing Id stick in my washing machine. The music track seems a beat or two faster then the lyrics. Kinda gives it a, hurry up but slow down feel. Along with rock, I listen to rap and hiphop daily man. This guy needs to do alot of work yet. Music aint easy man, theres to many damn critics.

There's always room for improvement I guess. Although sometimes you just kinda gotta "have it" to make it in music. Or just hope that someone from a major record label feels that your worthy of an opportunity.

He just needs a little polish. The beat is nice, the flow sounds raw but workable.
The tone is a bit monotonous, but the more the song is practiced, the more spots he will find for unique wordplay.
Lil Wayne would rip that song up.

Honestly, it sounds very boring and VERY unoriginal. I listen to the way he raps and he sounds like he trying to damn hard to sound like he is from 'Da Hood. Kids like him made me stop listening to Rap and instead i stick to Classic Rock.
He needs to worry more about getting an education and stop worrying about Jordans.
He doesnt need to be polished, he needs to be wetsanded and buffed cause there is NO SHINE to that kids Rap.
