what is beef II?
It's a documentary about the history of "the battle" in Hip Hop that documents the original battle between UTFO and Roxanne Shante, as well as other historical and well known battles. It's very interesting cause you get the whole story behind the beef's these artists had with each other straight from the horses mouth. Most of them squashed it after a while, which was cool to see cause that's the part the media doesn't show or tell us. They'll hype the hell out of the negativity that can come from it, but when the two parties talk and iron out thier differences maturely, that's not newsworthy[sm=dontgetit.gif]

How was it? any good? Not to be a d*ck or anything, but it sounds kind of boring. I'm more into comedies anyway. Seen any good comedies lately?

It was good to me cause I love the hip hop culture. So it was nice to hear from the artists about what happened and why it happened, plus, you get to see them in a different light, you get to see how they think, thier emotion. Only then do you realize that "hey, they're just like me"

your statement=ignorance

While there is no shortage of gangsta rappers who talk about this in their records, hip hop is so much deeper than that. Listen to Common, Jurassic 5, Mos Def, Del tha Funk Homosapien, The Roots, Immortal Technique, Talib Kweli and then get back to me.

Is not Hip-Hop and gansta rap or even rap two different animals? I don't think you can put the two in the same boat IMO.

It's all the same, just different genre's of it. This is why we have people making statements like the one above. Not to defend these guys, cause I feel like alot of it is garbage too, but like I told him, Hip Hop is so much deeper than the "im gonna shoot you, I have a million cars and my necklace is worth a zillion dollars"

i understand that...the people you mentioned were not as bad as people like 50 cent or tupac who glorify urban violence, but at the same time, even the non-gangsta rappers are constantly making light of personal strife. i think its all a bit pointless...i listen to rap because of the bass...and i have a big system. i dont listen to any of the crap theyre trying to promote.
