>All about ME<

Yes `Barbara, I see it in our future

Yes, we must look into our future because that is where we
spend the rest of our lives. I plan many future journey's
during my human life, but I never forget to
live & enjoy each day.
(What `if ?)
I dream it, I plan it and then I act or will act it out.
I believe, to live in my Now, but prepare for my future.
Until next time

I'll get in on this.
I'm 28 (29 in less than a month). It's been a few years since I've had a Monte but I stick around anyway. All I have at the moment is a 78 Camaro (which is waiting on parts to throw the 4L80E behind the '98 L31 Vortec under the hood) and an 09 Nissan Titan.
I live in Oklahoma, but will likely not get to see home very often, at least for the next several months, since I'm currently going through CDL training and will likely be going OTR for the first chunk. Before that I worked in manufacturing for oilfield components before oil prices resulted in my being laid off. Before moving back to OK, I worked for one of the suppliers for Nissan's plant in TN, hence why I now own a Nissan, and very well may buy another when it comes time.
I spent 10 years in the Army (mostly in the Reserves). I did supply and also spent time as a tank crewman. I miss the tanks.

I would love to live Beach Bum Mike's life.
But there a responsibilities still.
My real name is David. Barovelli is a favorite name to use on the internets. Google it and you can follow my trail of bytes scattered across the www. Stretch is another nickname I used on CB and have had it on my vanity plate for 38 years. I just turned 58. Does not feel old at all.
Married to Mrs Barovelli for 36 years. Have a son and a daughter, 3 grandchildren.
Worked in the field of cable TV for 37 years with one year off after a reorg. Been a tech, investigator, fleet keeper, supervisor and manager. Could have tried a new career but was happy to go to work for another cable tv company. Commute is 35 miles to and back. Earns me the title "Official Pace Car of The US 101".
I bought the Monte for a commuter car - I am 6'6" and was looking for mileage and comfort. Almost bought a Bonneville SSE but the dealer was not flexible. While searching for another Bonnie two or 3 Monte Carlos kept calling me . . .
I have lived all my life in Monterey California. The place has sure changed a lot, becoming a college town, tourist town and resort destination. We just survived spring break and are gearing up for the summer event list. Car week comes in August, always my favorite event especially when I see classics and exotics actually being driven on the streets. Concourse de Lemons is my favorite free show.
Electronics is my hobby. Was a hardcore CBer back in the 70s. Had a long twangy antenna on the bumper of my 77 Ranchero. Went to lots of CB events. It was the original social network. Now have ham radio for the urge to talk into a microphone. Tinkering with the car by adding gadgets without making it look nerdy is another. I put the ham radio, a hardwired bluetooth speakerphone, head unit plays mp3s, European horns wired into the trunk popper button, 110v inverter in the trunk and a dash cam. Lately I've been returning to my DIY days of car repair & maintenance to save money and it feels good again.
Been a music lover all my life. I listen to what is now called "Americana", a mix of country, folk, southern rock and various other styles. The Monte Carlo's names come from Grateful Dead songs.
I've always been a participant in specific car forums because the best advice to get is from others that share the same issues with their cars. Was on Firebird Nation and Rav4 World when I had matching cars.
