I saw this on another website.
Three men go on vacation. They rent one room for $30 and split the cost three ways, $10 each. After they pay the desk clerk and go up to their room, the clerk realizes the room was only $25. He hands the bellboy 5 $1 bills. The bell boy decides to give each man $1 back and keeps the last $2 for himself as a tip. So now each of the men spent $9 instead of $10 for the room.
$9 x 3 men = $27
$27 + $2 tip = $29
