My job is been involving me to drive cross county a lot, the pay is tremendously great, but it's cheaper to drive than to fly and rent a car especially with the tools and equipment I have to carry the flight packing expenses are insane expensive to go that route. (Tools are about 250-300lbs and most equipment items i work on are hazmat that either can not be flown or shipped fast enough to be installed on site. Lots of trips to NY, FL, AZ, CA, CO, GA, ND&SD. I have it as a dedicated work car now, it stays in the company lot and I'm not the only one who drives it, other people prefer taking the monte on the trip than the pickups we have, it's far more comfortable and has cruise control that still works (only one of six trucks in the company has a still working cruise control)
But yea like at this moment in IL and the guy who took my monte is currently in Montana on his way to Nor-Cal. I'm not the only driver anymore but I still own it not the company. It gets driven 7 days a week, oil, gas and tires are the realistically only things that need to be continuously changed or added.
