Default 3.9 06 monte CAI and Exhaust Mods done!

I had a couple things done last week, nothing special, but I thought I would post some pics. For anyone who has the same CAI installed, I really don't like the gap between the box and the fenderwell? That part was the biggset problem we had installing it, to get everything connected, TB, MAF and the cone filter, everytime we had it almost together one of the 3 items listed kept pulling off! We did end up getting everything pretty tight, but the gap is kinda annoying, I was thinking of getting another coupler between the cone filter and the MAF to make it so that it will not pop off with any amount of engine movement, please if you have one of these let me know if I may have done something wrong. thanks

i think they make all those boxes by hand. so there all a little different.

mine sat a little high on one side so i had to shim then move the rubber seal a little to make it look clean.

p.s. i think you forgot to take out the 2 rubber pieces underneth the box. take them out and it should sit a lot closer.

mine looks very clean now.

when you made all the connections did you clean them real good, to make a clean seal???

oh ya congrats and it looks great.

mak330, thanks for the info/suggestions.... Actually when me and a "mechanic" friend of mine were doing all this, I told him to disconnect the battery and sure enough he didn't and actually never really cleaned around anything!!!! I do have a pretty good feeling about going in there and doing anything like that without help, now that I saw how easy it was to put together!

bumper cover trade, not gonna happen, I was actually wondering how it would look with lower piece that Morad had forsale??? what do you think??

i think it would look great, you should buy it and give me your lower part.

ya um its not that hard to take apart and tweak, and it really looks like theres 2 rubber pieces that look like gromets under you box that arent suppose to be there.

it shouldnt be sitting that high. also the holes for the screws are actually slots that slide just enough to make it sit at the right angle.

what i did was take off my headlight so you have a lot more room to work with.

How do you like the sound of the aftermarket exhaust on the 3.9? Im looking to get it done sometime. Btw, the CAI looks nice... much nicer then my autozone HAI. Pretty sweet looking ride you got there.

magnaflow tips and mufflers, it sounds ok, not very loud but has a nice rumble on startup and on acceleration, it sounds pretty good. nothing like a set of headers would sound like. I'm still getting used to it, better than a ricer **** thing!!!!!
