I love the new Impala, but agree there should stronger power plants available. They are leave the stronger drivetrain for the antiqated SS program I suppose.

I disagree with you Taz - I think a new Monte SS or 2-door Impala would compete with the Camaro. Even a 2 door Cruze would. I actually know someong who went to a dealer once with intentions of buying a 2-door Cobalt and bought a lower end Camaro instead. 2-door cars are spread pretty thin. And if GM had made a Camaro at the time I bought my Monte Carlo, I probably wouldn't be on these boards. Now its true that another car would have difficulty stealing Camaro sales, but it could happen through pricing. But GM's lack of 2- door options helps to sell the Camaro, regardless

That's funny Mike. I agree with you on the rental car. Most new sedans look like a rental car now. With a few exceptions.

yeah I agree 100% its looks a lot like a Buick. One more thing. being an old Chevy SS owner. Onely 2 door V 8's should have the SS emblems. That really pi**ed me off when they put them on a 4 door. I alos think they should make a SS Malibu that is not your standard look a like Chevy! yeah like thats going to happen.

I'm with Rick on the idea that an SS should not be a 4 door.
