<!-- /Main photo wrapper --><!-- test output end: --><!-- the article, at a glance, downloads, top competitors, from buying guide --><!-- left column -->BMW of North America is bringing 20 copies of its 2011 Frozen Black Edition M3 Coupe to the U.S.
The limited-edition model features BMW’s Frozen Black exterior paint that has a “deep metallic luster
to accentuate the athletic lines of the legendary M3.”
In layman’s terms, this is one seriously mean-looking BMW.
The black-on-black sports coupe includes 19-in. GTS black wheels, red brake calipers and
a black Novillo leather interior with red stitching. Based on the 414-bhp M3 Coupe
equipped with a M Double Clutch Transmission (M DCT), the Frozen Black Edition
accelerates from 0–60 mph in 4.4 seconds.
The car also includes BMW’s Competition Package, which reduces ride height by 10 mm and
includes those slick GTS wheels (with a wider offset for better stability).
Electronic Damping Control with “enhanced programming,” and higher-threshold
programming for M Dynamic Mode are also included.

Start Dialing
The price is a substantial $79,650, or approximately $10,000 more than a similarly equipped M3 Coupe.
And you won’t find any on dealership lots. If you’re interested, you better be quick with a phone.
Customers are invited to reserve one of the first nineteen 2011 Frozen Black Edition M3 Coupes
by dialing 1-800-245-4269 starting at 11:30 a.m. Eastern Time (8:30 a.m. Pacific) on Thursday,
June 16, 2011. After they’re gone, that’s it.
But didn’t BMW say it was planning on bringing 20 Frozen Black M3 Coupes to the States?
According to the official release, the twentieth car “will be held by BMW of North America and
may be sold at a later date.”

Ha! A murdered out BMW. That's good. All you need now is tinted windows and tails, and you're all set.

I believe I remember hearing that you aren't allowed to do stuff to that paint that you would normally do to a car. So if a bird poops on it and you don't clean it right away the paint is ruined. BUT you can't clean it the normal way, so it's lose lose.

If I'm paying $80,000 for a car, I'd rather it not come in primer.

I thought it was primer at first too. Glad I'm not the only one.

Why don't they go all out and put a full blown body kit and a big honkin wing on the trunk?

I wanna see a factory made ricer BMW.
