1970 Chevy Nova for `Domo & Member's
Hi Member's,
Super-Super 1970 Chevy Nova...I love it, do you ?
If you had a choice between a New Camaro S.S. or below
which would you choose ?
OR
Congratulations to Gary Abraham and “Notorious,” his 1970 Nova, for winning the 2008 Goodguys “Muscle Machine of the Year” award<!--preview-->. <!--more-->
“Muscle Machine of the Year” finalists were selected throughout the year at various Goodguys shows across the country, culminating with the winner being crowned at Goodguys Scottsdale event.
Built at Rad Rides by Troy, the dark charcoal and black Nova is the embodiment of Pro-Touring. The Nova features parts from Detroit Speed & Engineering (who also sponsored the award), which include their Hydroformed front subframe, QUADRALink rear suspension, and mini-tubs to give the Nova outstanding handling, traction and ride quality.
Motivation comes from a 572 Chevy big block managed by Big Stuff 3 fuel injection custom tuned to run E-85 fuel. A custom black, powder-coated ProCharger F-2R boosts power to more than 1,100 hp. A GM 4L80E transmission drives the rear while 14.5” Baer brakes sit behind custom 18” Billet Specialties wheels.
Rad Rides modified the Nova’s exterior with one-piece door glass, custom slimmed down bumpers, rocker extensions, a belly pan, custom valences with Camaro driving lights up front, a one-off hood, deck lid with integrated spoiler, Camaro taillights and more. All the chrome trim has been painted black to give the car a more sinister look.
Gary Abraham’s Nova “Notorious” has also won several awards at the 2009 Detroit Autorama, including Outstanding Engineering, Outstanding Engine, Outstanding Interior, Outstanding Street Machine, and 2nd place in the Pro-Touring 55 to Current category.

+ for the color scheme
++ for the drive train, modern fuel management. I lust after many classic muscle cars but hate being behind most of them.
+++ for being a Nova. HS Driver Ed car was a Nova. First machine I ever drove.
