Default 13 most dangerous car interiors in history

For all of you classic car drivers.
Most Dangerous Car Interiors - History of Automobile Safety - Popular Mechanics

I never really thought about the interior not being safe.

Great to bring it up, but the article kinda stinks.

Unpadded dashboards, ***** on the dash panel, solid steering columns and I'd have to add forward opening hoods (late 50s Fords, hello) are old car sins that have been engineered out.

As for modern cars, they are darned safe if you don't compromise the cabin with loose CDs, phones, hot coffee, Flava-Flav sized tachs, etc

I came out of a rear ender in a Ranger mini truck, barely with my kneecaps intact. Its dash ***** were aimed right at them. The metal clipboard and stainless steel thermos in the cab were about as lethal too.

I like my 80's c30 interior. Is it less safe with the tractor ball on the steering wheel?

I'de hafta def say thats a ****-poor waste of a fine old Chevy, that is just sad... I always wanted a '59 and couldn't afford one, and here is one and they just trash it, gone forever to prove what?? I know the old cars aren't as safe, but no need to obliterate an old car for that. No offense to you, my friend, I'm mad at IIHS!!

I saw that 1959 vs 2009 Chevy crash test when it first came out. Local media was bragging about it. As an example of how great modern American cars are compared to the "unsafe" classics. As a car guy, first I cried, then I was pissed off. I watched it once and wasn't able to look at it again. What a huge waste of a rare classic.

They say it was produced by the IIHS. I say it was produced by the department of DUH!!! A brand new car is safer than a 50 year old car, hunh? No sh*t! You don't say!

I'm sure modern buildings are more earth quake resistant than the Leaning Tower of Pisa. I don't need you to destroy it to know that.

Sorry for the rant. But it just really bothers me when I see anything (not just cars) historic, antique, classic, rare, etc... being destroyed for stupid reasons. The way I see it, once they're gone, that's it. There's no getting them back.
