1,200HP Pontiac Firebird Sells for Cheap at Chicago Auction
*Member's, do you think it was cheap @ $87K (?) (I like it), but if I had that type of $'s for a car
It would be a new Stingray Z07. Let us know what you think ? `OK

People regularly pay seven figures for cars that push out more than a thousand horsepower. But you’d be surprised to learn that one 1,200-horsepower Pontiac Firebird went to a loving home from Mecum’s Chicago Auction for a mere $87,000. That made it one of the cheapest cars of the lot.
You should remember this car. It’s a 1970 Firebird that features a twin-turbocharged V8 and comes with loads of modern performance enhancements. It was done up by All Speed Customs in Michigan, given to its original owner, and then handed over to Mecum for this past weekend’s festivities.

Like a few other cars in the lot, the Firebird was expected to get somewhere near $100,000. But one very lucky new owner left Chicago paying the aforementioned $87,000 for this gorgeous machine. Which in auction prices is a total steal.
At the same auction we saw two Ford GTs go for $635K combined, a 1970 Plymouth Hemi Cuda go for $185,000, and even an ’86 Buick GNX raking in more than the Pontiac at $97,500.

I'd rather have the below
then the above awesome Trans Am above.
What would you want for the $'s ?

The newest generation of Corvette engineering continues to pump out the fastest Chevys of all time, and the Z06 is right up there at the top. Powered by a 6.2-liter supercharged V8, this Corvette produces 650 horsepower, coupled with 650 pound-feet of torque. We’re talking serious power here. When unveiling the Z06, Chevrolet released a vehicle that truly allows the company to shine on the world stage. The ZR1 held the title for a short time, but the release of the Z06 will bring about a new king of the road. The stats speak for themselves, and the design and engineering silently speaks volumes.

Hi Zach,
I agree & thanks for being the 1st to post on this thread.
I also would prefer to built my own, but first I'd have to get a garage, with the tools needed, + learn the skills to do it (?)...
I know the basic's on cars & doing repairs, but I would also need the help of the experts.
Time-Knowledge-$'s (WoW)... I do like that T/A, but for that kind of money, I'd rather have the StingRay I posted.

if you are looking for a unique one of a kind road monster, and don't have the ability, time or space to build one this wouldn't be that bad of a deal, as I imagine all parts will be new and completely race version, the motor would be scary to guesstimate what it would actually cost to buy, not to mention the man hours invested in the car to get it to look that way. I am a fan of the old muscle cars, and have owned a few firebirds over the years, but honestly I don't think I would ever invest that much in to building one of them like that, as I don't think you could drive it to truly get the enjoyment out of the car. It needs a track to run on, not sunday afternoon cruises and side roads, that is a pure race machine.
I would rather have the Hemi Cuda, but then again at the prices they go for, I would be scared to drive it
