Police on the Scene of Fatal Drunk Driving crash http://www.car-accidents.com/pages/a...y/3-11-04.html

i have - and would again without hesitation - call the police about a suspected drunk driver. it's sad how many people are seriously injured and killed by drunk drivers every year. there was a pitcher from the LA Angels, Nick Adenhart, who was killed wed nite/thurs. morning, along w/ 3 other people, by a guy who was driving drunk, on a suspended license (for past DUI incidents). ran a red light and smashed into their car. the only survivor in their car was upgraded today from critical to serious condition. the drunk driver took off but was found later. he is apparently being charged with murder and hopefully will be in prison for the rest of his life. it's just depressing that innocent people have to die because some a**hole thinks he (or she) will be fine to drive drunk.
If I knew the person was too drunk to drive, I would take their keys from them. If they didnt let me take them, I would beat the f@$k out of them, take their keys and drop them off back home. Lesson learned.
I have called 911 and then followed them until the police arrive, but they guy was really drunk and almost ran over a kid on a bike.
I saw a man get hit on a bike and it was not a pretty sight, in fact it still haunts me... The man's lower jaw, forearms and knees were ground off - from sliding on the pavement, so that it looked like the man was sunken into the payment - as he was still in the riding position. He was dead, and they left him in that position until they did all the measurements and took photographs.

I voted call and try to stop but BY NO MEANS DID I VOTE FOR THE STONED part of that lol so im only counting mine as a half vote, I think driving while high really isnt a a bad thing. **** im a better drive cause im so much more aware of my surroundings
I don't mean to be too firm on this position, but I think the prosecution of drunk drivers has turned into a bit of a witch hunt. I say this very tenderly and I'm not being insensitive or excusing any of the senseless and needless tragedy that results from drunk driving. Tragic fatal accidents happen resulting from non-drunks errors too, but blame is always attributed to alcohol - especially in the media. A scenario very similiar to the one described ChevySSGirl was headlines in these parts recently. A sober father and his 2 kids died in an accident with another car with a drunk at the wheel. Made front page news with all sorts of quotes about how this happens when people drive drunk. Nowhere in the paper did it describe the accident. I found out from an actual scene investigator that it was actually sober dad, in a hurry to get his kids to hockey or something, who ran a stop sign and hit the drunk (who apparently was driving fine). But the media is merciless and that guy is f***ed. How many times could this have happened?
Nobody wants to admit it could be them (accept maybe kweef). I've had a beer before driving (not in the BudChev - its way too heat score). For all I know, dude may have had one drink. If a dip**** comes along and kills himself at your expense and you've any amount of alcohol nobody's even going to ask questions before hanging you. I don't think that's right either.
Anyway, don't drink and drive. There's one more reason
