2009 Nissan GT-R Exposed
Finally! Here is the full, undisguised Nissan GT-R in all its glory.
October 18,2007
[:-]

Slideshow: Nissan GT-R >>This is it! The most anticipated sports car in the U.S., the Nissan GT-R, has been revealed. Nissan didn't want anyone to see its prize sports coupe until the official debut at the Tokyo Motor Show next week, but security leaks on the Internet have forced the issue. So what you see here is the full, undisguised GT-R in all its glory. As you can see, things haven't changed too much from the original GT-R Concept that was presented at the Tokyo Motor Show two years ago.
Slideshow >>The most notable modification is to the face. Gone is the "running mascara" beneath the headlights, replaced by a body-colored bumper, which makes the face look much cleaner and more elegant. Some say the car looks like an F-18 fighter jet on wheels while others feel that it belongs on the set of Transformers. Either way, the styling speaks volumes of what this car is capable of on the open road. Under the hood is a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V-6 that pumps out a whopping 480 bhp. This puts the GT-R right up there in the power department with the heralded Porsche 911 Turbo. And it's going to be half the price. We expect a 0–60-mph time of 3.5 seconds and a quarter-mile dash of just under 12. The Nissan will handle well too, thanks to ATTESA-ETS all-wheel drive and fat Bridgestone tires. Expect the 2009 Nissan GT-R to make its debut next summer at a very reasonable price of $70,000. :

Natalia SLS 2: Is He Serious?
Al DiMora claims to be building a 1200-bhp
WoW - Wee300-mph...sedan![:-]

Since no one was building a 300-mph $2 million super sedan, Palm Springs' DiMora Motorcar is setting out to do so. Company head Al DiMora (yes, of Sceptre and Clenet fame) says his Natalia SLS 2 will be "the world's most luxurious, expensive and technologically advanced creation."

The engine, which has yet to be built, will be a 14.0-liter overhead-valve V-16 with 1200 bhp and 900 lb.-ft. of torque, the power put to the road via all-wheel drive. Although the image you see here is computer-generated, DiMora says work has begun on the first chassis, which will have 4-wheel steering and be made of aluminum and carbon composites. Due to those materials, the weight of that chassis (less suspension) is claimed to be between 315-350 lb., despite the car being quite large, with a 163.3-in. wheelbase, an overall length of 244 in. and 24-in. wheels.
DiMora claims the Natalia will "feature dozens of innovations never before seen in any production automobile." Of course, all of these claims live on nothing more than a computer screen at this point. Whether DiMora can make his dream become a reality — something that many have failed at before — will be something to watch. DiMora says they have pre-sold 17 cars, with the official unveiling of the Natalia SLS 2 scheduled for early 2009.

Road & Track
Alfa Romeo has been teasing us ever since it showed the 8C as a concept car way back in 2003 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Since then, the concept has been a fixture at every important international gathering, finally appearing in production form at Paris last fall and at Geneva in March.
The limited 500-unit run of the $200,000 supercar is reportedly spoken for, although Alfa has promised that it will sell a handful in the U.S. in anticipation of its return to the American market in time for the 2010 model year. So, it will be some time before anyone will catch a glimpse of this sleek 2-seat coupe in the States anytime soon. But, if you have a hankering to see an 8C up close, you might camp out on the north loop of Germany's Nürburgring, where near-production-ready cars are being tested before the first 8Cs are delivered to European customers in September. Riding on a 102.2-in. wheelbase, the 8C promises blistering performance from its Maserati-derived 4.7-liter V-8, which is said to produce 450 bhp and 347 lb.-ft. of torque with maximum revs in the 7000-rpm range. The 8C should be relatively light, using a tubular aluminum chassis and a carbon-fiber body — it should tip the scales somewhere around 3300 lb. The manual gearbox features an electronically controlled, pedal-less clutch, and the 6-speed offers five different shift programs through its steering-wheel-mounted paddles — Normal and Sport modes with manual shift, Normal and Sport modes with automatic shift and an ice mode for winter driving. The 8C rides on a fully independent wishbone suspension and 20in. wheels shod with P245/35R-20 rubber. Since there are so few of this expensive, stylish and wickedly fast coupe available for U.S. buyers, it is an interesting calling card for Alfa's return to America, to say the least.

Koenigsegg CCR specs
Top Speed: 242 mph / 395 km/h
0-60 mph: 3.2 seconds
0 - 1/4 Mile: 9 sec. @ 146 mph (235 km/h)
Engine: 4.7-liter V8 806 bhp

Koenigsegg CCR – the new champion

Koenigsegg CCR is better known as the 'record-breaker'. Yes, the CCR beat the The McLaren F1 supercar, the fastest production car ever built, at Italy's Nardo Prototipo on February 28th 2005, with a breath-taking performance at 387.87 km/h, a 15 km/h increase from the later's past record.

Koenigsegg is an exclusive manufacturer of super sports cars, the latest being the Koenigsegg CCX with a performance speed of 403 km/h. The CC (Competition Coup) led by Koenigsegg is unlikely to be defeated in the near future. The McLaren F1 and Ferrari Enzo supercars still have to come a long way to prove superior in the squad of Production cars. The performance speed of McLaren F1 is 372 km/h and that of Ferrari Enzo is 355 km/h as per the results at Nardo/Prototipo.

Koenigsegg CCR is synonymous with speed. The engineering and design of this sports car substantiate this fact. The aerodynamic body and the lightweight chassis display the main purpose of the vehicle, the speed. The front bumper reminds you the cutting shark with pointed face and deep nostrils. The materials of the body are the lightweight carbon fiber compounds reinforced with Kevlar and aluminum honeycomb. These features ensure the complete safety along with the super speed even in extreme driving conditions. A feather-touch driving experience from Koenigsegg!

Koenigsegg CCR is specially designed considering the tastes of the sporty car customers. The low and broad appearance of the body adds a pleasant feeling of safety; added to this is the fashionably designed semicircular windscreen and organically shaped rear hood. Under roofless driving conditions, the hardtop can be turned to fit under the front bonnet. The whole chassis can be exposed when the hoods and the roof are open; this adds a lot of convenience while inspecting the body.

The most important feature of any sports car is the design of its body. Koenignsegg CCR's body is perfectly symmetrical adding a sense of equilibrium while driving. The gear lever is located at the center point of the supercar. All other important mechanisms are mounted around the steering so as to have a good control over them, and these instruments are visible from the upper spokes of the wheel avoiding unnecessary acrobatics while driving.

A lot more technological additions, such as the cutting edge brakes, new racing shock absorbers, CCR advanced throttle, a monocoque carbonfibre intake plenum, and 19" front wheels, etc., are applied to make Koenigsegg CCR the choice of the leaders.

Thanks to Joachim Nordwall, the designer who made the racing car CCR a champion on the roads. He is fascinated by its compelling 'predator' look with the diamond-shaped eyes searching for the prey. Why not take it out for a hunt?

The drive never ends at Koenigsegg!

Is Dodge Dreaming or Scheming?
A brief drive in the 2-seat Dodge Demon has done little to dampen the initial enthusiasm we felt toward this Geneva concept. [:-]

A brief drive in the 2-seat Dodge Demon has done little to dampen the initial enthusiasm we felt toward this Geneva concept that's aimed squarely at Mazda's MX-5 Miata. Despite riding on a compact 95.6-in. wheelbase and with an overall length of just 156.5 in., the Demon has plenty of room inside its cabin for the average-size adult. The seats, which are an evolution of the Viper/SRT4 buckets, are firmly bolstered and clad in a handsome, textured fabric over faux carbon-fiber shells, matched by the carbon-fiber pattern on the rollbars and windshield header.
The 172-bhp 2.4-liter four provides plenty of punch, aided by the Demon's light 2600 lb., although the engine isn't as refined as Mazda's 4-banger. The 6-speed transmission on the Demon did have a very loose and sloppy shift action, owing (we hope) to the fact this car is just a concept. Even though it was difficult to find the right gear, this condition didn't dispel the impression that the drivetrain/chassis combination, if properly tweaked, could provide many hours of happy motoring. The steering action was quick and precise; the ride, nicely damped.
The problem is that the pending sale of Chrysler to Cerberus put many programs on hold, especially one as ambitious as the Demon, which would require an all-new rear-drive platform with an aggressively low target price in the mid-teens. Too bad the question that remains is not when but rather if there is a Demon in Dodge's future.

Despite being a Chevy guy, I would probably be ok in being seen in that Demon, especially if it's in themid teens! Seriously... rwd... u know it's gonna have potential. Like start base with the 4cyl SRT-4 motor w/turbo.

Alas... I'm just WAAY to happy with my Monte!
