Surf's up at the O'Neill Sebastian Inlet Pro presented by Ron Jon Surf Shop
The O'Neill Sebastian Inlet Pro presented by Ron Jon is the biggest and most prestigious surfing contest on the US East Coast and one of the top three on mainland North America. The tournament will feature a field of 192 surfers from more than a dozen countries.
This 4-Star WQS event is set for January 4th thru 11th, 2008, and once again timed to coincide with the semi-annual Surf Expo trade show, the tournament will draw about 200 professional competitors, including many of the world's best, competing for a hefty cash prize purse.
Sebastian Inlet's first, second and third peaks were a regular contest venue for such past events as the The Florida Pro, The Stubbies Classic and the Bud Pro Tour. The 2005 Sebastian Inlet Pro marked the return of high-level professional surfing to Florida's most famous surfing break.
Competition runs approximately 8:00am until 4:00pm, tides and waves permitting. Four days of the seven-day window are needed for the event.
Surfers compete for prize money and points leading to a spot on the World Championship Tour. The Sebastian Inlet Pro originated in 2005.

Sebastian Inlet is located directly off of State Road A1A on the county line between Brevard and Indian River Counties. The Inlet is situated approximately 18 miles south of Indialantic (State Road 192) and is roughly a one-hour drive from Orlando
