Hi EveryOne, I just got `off
my night shift & readyto enjoy another day of human `life.

oy 'Kid. went and talked to the recruiter on Friday. he said they'd be happy to have me (natch). I've been researching this option for about a year so I know exactly what I'm in for. the Navy guarantees whatever job I want in writing and I scored high enough on the ASVAB to secure any job I want except nuclear. who wants that gig anyway? gotta gather up my high school diploma, birth certificate and a few other odds and ends this coming week and then they'll schedule me for my physical. I chose the Navy because they have the easiest boot camp, and the odds of physical danger to me there is the least likely. like Chef said in Apocalypse Now "never get off the boat!"...unless we dock in Amsterdam

Great that you've done you homework, & are getting everything
in writing. Interesting MOS selection. How long is your
first contract ? My grandfather alway told me `if I decide to
go into any military branch is to become a officer by ROTC, or
OCS. Do you have that option to appy to be a officer ?
Many of the retired military here in Florida state that officer's
get better living conditions, and pay.
I wish you the best, and it todays conditions it may be a good
choice for employment.

Kid, contract is 2 years active, 2 years reserve. can't go as an officer because I only have a high school education (barely!) I can take my Parte Carload anywhere I want in our 50, and most places overseas. another nice thing is after basic I get to try and choose where I want to be stationed. I get 2 choices (whether they will be honored is based on availabiltiy, ect) my first choice will be Hawaii, my second will be somewhere in CA, you know, because I'm not greedy

I'm just cleaning house and doing laundry. This evening we are going to a wedding. Maybe this will twist my fiances's arm into tying the knot with me.

Looks like a pretty slow day on the forum, hope everyone is out having a great Saturday. I am cleaning up my room a little, and doing laundry. Then I am going to get in the pool and go for a nice swim (actually a nice float lol)...
