Post [Politics] What do you stand for?

So I had a religion/deity thread... now it's time for the political thread. I just love these touchy subjects!

Because this is politics and not too personal like religion, debate is allowed but try not to let it get out of hand.
*Understand, relate, ask, debate*
__________________________________________________ __________

World politics?

examples:

Anarchist?
Communist?
Anarcho-Communist???
Anything? A combination? etc

some questions to start off with:

What structure (if any structure) of government do you believe in?
Why do you believe in this form of government?
What benefits are there?
What cons are there?
Do you have evidence this works?
Are there any real-world examples?
Do you believe the majority of nations will evolve into this structure in the near future?
Anything else?
__________________________________________________ __________

US politics?

examples:

Left?
Right?
Middle?
Independent?
etc?

See questions above.

Answer all, answer some, answer none.

~Also, if you are from Canadia (lol) like Taz, tell us about your system and preferences of government.~

__________________________________________________ __________
I will start off with my opinion on the most productive and innovative system. I won't go into much detail until the thread takes off... just to list a few basics.... and maybe after a night rest.

I typically stick to US politics rather than debating actual forms of government. Just FYI

I describe myself as a Left-wing Libertarian, though I do not delve much into anarchist policies. I used to claim myself a Conservative, rather an authoritarian consvervative until I dropped my religion and really focused on personal freedom and personal choice, despite my personal moral views.

  • I extremely dislike government interfering with business. Big government in general.
  • I believe the private sector can out-do the public sector in almost any shape/form.
  • I am a strong believer in civil liberties.
  • I am strictly against any establishment of religion. For example, "...under God," in pledges, 10 commandments in courthouses, the likes.
  • Welfare, reparations, socialized medicine, government mandates, the likes.
  • Obviously the fundamental document of the US, our constitution.
  • Law regarding someones or some group(s) moral-based values.

tl;dr: Minimum Government, Maximum Freedom

True capitalism, I believe, bests ignites the flame of true human innovation
and success.

I see one of the options is Anarchist, just had a quick question about them...... Who organizes, communicates and ensures they do something, anything?...

Do you really want to get me started? Of course you do. So here I go.
First off I don't trust our government. There is too much crap going on behind closed doors that we don't find out about until things go wrong and the **** hits the fan.
I believe that there is no political system is perfect. Capitalism, socialism, and communism all work on paper. Unfortunately human greed screws them all up.
I believe we need checks and balances in all things. An example follows: a hundred years ago business had little regulation and could do most anything they wanted. Repulicans tell us this is what we need again and business will fix all. What we had were sweat shops with long hours, child labor, no job security, low wages and sometimes no wages, unsafe working conditions, physical and sexual abuse. The business owner was greedy and only cared about putting money in his pocket at any cost. Environmental issues were not a concern either. This is why labor unions came into being.
I believe that our forefathers gave us a gift in our government. I also believe that we have allowed lawyers, the rich, big business, lobbyists, and the lazy to completely "F" it up.
I believe we need to clean house and not reelect anyone.
I believe that both democrats and republicans are not doing us any good.
I believe that democrats want to hand a free lunch to everyone. They want to enlarge the size of government and regulate everything. The republicans on the other hand want to deregulate business but the religious right wants to restrict our personal freedoms. The democrats also want to regulate personal freedoms.

I believe we need to outlaw lobbyists and big business from getting involved in government.
I believe we need to shrink the size of government. I would start by disbanding the EPA and NHSTA and go from there. Their are too many government agencies that are heavily influenced by big business and it doesn't benefit the average American.
I believe we need to nullify every free trade agreement that isn't with Canada and Mexico. From there we need to tax the crap out of imports. It is the only way we can get manufacturing to return to American shores. This will also return the middle class to America and the taxes paid by the middle class is what supports this country. As it is now the poor pay little taxes and the rich find the loop holes so they don't pay either. I would close those loop holes and create a tax where everyone pays a fair tax. With the elimination of manufacturing jobs we also saw the middle class diminish and they became part of the poor while working service related jobs.
I believe we need term limits and we also need to eliminate the huge pay and benefits package they have voted themselves. Why should they make more money than I do?
I would also eliminate foreign aid, we have too many domestic issues to take care of.
I would outlaw foreigners from owning property here. How much of the US does China own?
I would make investing in infrastructure, technology (NASA),education, and enlarging our military priorities.
I would make a college education in this country free for our citizens.
I believe we need to enforce the English language as being the national language. If you don't want to learn and use English you don't need to be here.
I am getting tired so this is all for now.

Sticky: Politics on this site

Below is my contribution to this Thread on Politics

What Is Politics?
A little boy goes to his dad and asks, "What is politics?"
Dad says, "Well son, let me try to explain it this way: I'm the breadwinner of the family, so let's call me capitalism. Your Mom, she's the administrator of the money, so we'll call her the Government. We're here to take care of your needs, so we'll call you the people. The nanny, we'll consider her the Working Class. And your baby brother, we'll call him the Future. Now, think about that and see if that makes sense,"

So the little boy goes off to bed thinking about what dad had said.
Later that night, he hears his baby brother crying, so he gets up to check on him. He finds that the baby has severely soiled his diaper. So the little boy goes to his parents' room and finds his mother sound asleep. Not wanting to wake her, he goes to the nanny's room. Finding the door locked, he peeks in the keyhole and sees his father in bed with the nanny. He gives up and goes back to bed. The next morning, the little boy says to his father, "Dad, I think I understand the concept of politics now."

The father says, "Good son, tell me in your own words what you think politics is all about."

The little boy replies, "Well, while Capitalism is screwing the Working Class, the Government is sound asleep, the People are being ignored and the Future is in deep poo."

I don't stand for any form of government. I stand for equality, fairness, and help for the fellow earthlings in need. IDK of any government that fits that description... While our government does help people, they help people who don't need it/are too lazy to even attempt to get a job. In the meanwhile, I know people that are hard working that still struggle just to make a living. This is where the fairness part comes in.

Hi `Duane,
Or it could make people think/act & try to make it better for all on planet `Earth..."We the people are the ones that have elected the people that represent us" - "We the people `if united can remove the bad ones that aren't doing what is best for the majority of the people"

Maybe if everyone got involved and picked the right people, honest people then it would help make things better..
We need elected representatives that do not sell their souls for GREED or personal interests.

What are you doing to make it better ? ( I ask myself 2 ? )
But, what do I know, I'm just a `kid from some space/place

OK, your turn to hit some keys...Thanks `Duane for your insightful post : )
