2017 Chevy Camaro ZL1 Testing on the Nurburg ring!

UNLIKE THE Z/28, THE ZL1'S 'RING TESTING WENT OFF WITHOUT A HITCH
In another round of testing Camaros at the Nurburgring, Chevy unleashed a few production-looking Camaro ZL1 coupes around the same track that bit the more track-ready Z/28 variant a few weeks ago. Unlike the Z/28, these ZL1 testers didn't meet any of the racetrack's barriers and finished their testing duties unscathed.
Having had a chance to sit inside one of the new ZL1s for a hot lap, we can confirm that the LT4 powered 640-hp monster sounds as good as the video makes it seem. It appears that Chevy is running both the six-speed manuals and 10-speed automatics, judging by the two different shifting sounds coming from the red and blue test cars.
We can't help but think the test drivers got a stern talking to before taking these Camaros out on the track -- with the speech consisting of "Avoid all walls. You're drivers; not journalists."
With the hot new Camaro's fall launch quickly approaching, a solid 'Ring time will certainly look good on advertising -- though, with that exhaust note, it could sell itself.
