The more older I get the more open minded I get...

 

I used to be pretty opinionated and very closed minded when I was younger, but through the years I have become pretty open minded and a decent listener.

This has allowed me to learn a lot of things from other people and not think my way is the only way.

There are certain things I am still closed minded and intolerant of ..... but this isnt the arena to air those beliefs.

Do you think everyone has been taught/programed to `be who they have become by their parents/teachers/associates etc and their experiences in life...

If your parents or dominate person in your life is close minded, do you think that you are also ?

Or `if they were open-minded, do you think that made you open-minded also ?

If your mentor's loved Chevy's or Monte Carlo's, do you think that influenced your decision to want a Monte ?

I know that my beach bum friends say that I sound & act more like my grandfather everyday in my thinking & belief's.

I was raised & taught by my grandfather & his senior citizen friends (They were like the United Nations with their varied backgrounds/experiences/education)...

I've learned so much from them, but when I got in2 my early teens I started to challenge some of their teachings & beliefs & ended up just taking what worked best for me...

The most important think I've learned is to live by the creed/pledge/commandment that was taught by my grandfather' "Thou shall not purposely hurt yourself or others, but to always use all your resources & power to defend those in life that are being purposely hurt or harmed" `amen

I follow that creed I'm opened minded to `Good & I'm closed minded to BAD...

I certainly think you are influenced by the beliefs and views of your parents when you are young. This could be political, religion and many other subjects. I do think when you get out on your own and as you get older you get more independent and form you own views and beliefs on things...

 

im closed minded. I can tolerate others opinions though. my best friend is a democrat and im a republican. Im working on turning him though.

 

I'm open minded about some things but on some topics I am very closed minded. It depends on the subject I guess.

 

Completely open minded. There are no views that (at the very least) I couldn't understand another point of view on. Occasionally, that open mindedness has caused me to review my own belief system.

In general I am open minded...however, I am some what closed minded on certain things, and once my mind is made up, i'm doing it, regardless of opinion. Just depends on the situation/ subject.
