Default $5.89 A Gallon Gas In Florida?

I'm sure you've all heard about gas prices being on the rise, but one Shell gas station in Florida is gouging consumers big time. $5.89 a gallon when it's in the $3.xx price range at nearby stations? What a rip off...

thats rediculous, i thought there was a law that you can only be a certain number of cents higher or lower than neighboring gas stations. Unless thats NY only or something

Keane I think it's a state to state basis. At those prices they should be out of business soon.

Yeah I believe the specifics vary from state to state, I thought Iowa had a law such as that but then again in Webster City, where I'm from, gas is usually 10-15 cents higher than here in Ames which is only 40 miles away. Seems odd that the price can vary so much between two places that really aren't that far apart.

Sadly there are many stations in Florida that are over $5 + dollars a gallon...My boss just paid $5.29 In Miami @ his company expense...He can write it `off, but he is the owner
It's really frustrating to see, especailly when most of my dream rides are performance rides...
I may just have to get my kicks in a Go Kart Oh`NO

Its like 3.60 here and was 3.42 day before yesterday. When I went grocery shopping, I used my Kroger points and saved .60 a gallon and only paid 2.82. Filled her up. Thats jsut a rip off anyways. No sense in it being that high. Rich get richer and poor, well we've heard it before.

I am fairly certain that this is a gas station just outside of the Orlando International Airport. There are a few gas stations there and a few just outside of Disney that gouge the gas prices like that. They don't depend on repeat business just the tourists. They figure why not they are not coming back anyway. There is a lawsuit going thru the courts right not between these gas stations and Orange County. The issue isn't that they are gouging. The issue is that they refuse to post their prices so that the consumer knows what they are paying. The only place the price is posted is directly on the pump in that small digital box. Everybody else has a large sign on the roadside. Most people pull in with their rental car and fill up for the car return not knowing what they are paying until it is too late. The county wants the larger signs like everyone else has posted.
