Question z/28 to monte ss....

im looking at a 2006 monte ss. my normal driver is a 2000 z/28, and more room would be a plus. can anyone tell me the difference in performance i should expect? the camaro is basically stock with an automatic tranny and .273 gears. i average 26 mpg and have plenty of power at all speeds. will the monte be about the same all around, will i lose, or will i actually be upgrading overall? i live in michigan so i can only drive my camaro about 6 months a year. i know the monte could be a yearly driver but dont want to sacrifice performance if neccessary. i think the ss would be a good choice to switch to... and man are they nice to look at!!! any help is appreciated.

hmm gas mileage would increase...overall performance will be slightly decrease considering the loss in liters and ur gearing but i think u would liek the car...it gets alot of double takes and has very good pick up...

I think its a toss up. You might loose a tiny bit of overall performance. But your going to gain all that room. It drives like a champ on the highway.

And like its been said before, the looks are incredible.

I'm not too familiar with Z28's but I can say that I really love driving my '06 SS. It's quiet quick, but you will experience one hell of a torque steer pull. Head over to www.ls1tech.com and ask this same question. I bet you will get a lot more, informative answers comparing the two vehicles.

Your gonna sit a helluva lot higher in it. Im not gonna lie, if your gonna do anything keep your z28 and get mabye a few years older monte ss. The fwd can get boring once youve driven rwd.
