I would return it, he misrepresented it. Sounds like it is going to be nothing but headaches to try and maintain. I would def. avoid going to any shady used car lot like that.

Welcome, Danariel. Sounds like an unscrupulous used car dealer. Definitely squeeze him to make things right. Take maximum advantage of that warranty. Really need to find out what engine you have in there. Hopefully it's the 3.8L; great engine.

And you're not the only one who names your cars. My family and I have Bedelia, Alice, and Gizmo in our stable (all old cars). Only the Monte and my bike don't really have names.

Good luck with the Monte. Hope it works out.

Tomorrow I'm going to give him 2.5 options. 1. He can refund what I paid for the car AND what I paid for the tires, 2. He can have his guys put the missing pieces on it, and make damn sure it has everything (while getting ALL the info on the engine, what it came out of, size, etc.) 2.5 If he isn;t sure is guys are up to the task, he can take it to the nearest Chevy Dealer and have THEM put the parts in right, and fix everything else that's wrong with it, using the warranty where he can, but paying for the rest himself.

I'm going to let him know that I'm going to be hard to please at this point, and that his easiest option is to refund, and try to sell it to someone else who knows what they're getting into. If he doesn't want to do that, he's going to have to make me happy.

Sounds like a good plan. Good luck with everything. I wonder if he gets any repeat customers.

Hi Tiffany.

The first time I posted I was on my cell phone and could only squint my eyes for so long. I appologize.

I read your entire post. I would NOT trust "Blue" or his car lot to do any work on that car, or any car for that matter. Personally, I would remove any stuff I installed and demand my money back from that scam artist.

But if you really want to keep the car, then I would get it fixed somewhere else. Somewhere you trust, and keep detailed receipts -- you'll need them from the sounds of it. I think Blue is going to keep up his shenanigans with you as long as he can.

Something you may want to keep in mind as a last resort: If any local tv stations have one of those "problem solvers" segments during their daily newscasts. Give them a try. Here in the Detroit area, they've done wonders for people in similar situations as you. And who knows how many other people "Blue" has done that to? You may not be the first, or last, person he's done that to.

Putting that guy out of business may be doing the community a favor!

I moved you up to a full access member so you will be able to look through the photo galleries. Incase you want to see what some other members engines look like in comparison to yours. The 2000 - 2005 Monte Carlo's came with either a 3.4 litre "3400" V6 (only came in the Monte Carlo LS), or the 3.8 litre "3800 Series II" V6 (came in the Monte Carlo SS). The 2004 & 2005 had an optional supercharged version of the 3.8 also.

I sincerely hope this gets resolved quickly. The Monte Carlo's have generally been a pretty reliable car. But when you got a car lot that removes entire sections of the engine and doesn't tell you. Not so much. I wouldn't trust a thing that lot says or does.
