Whats the difference SS vs regular
I have a 2000 SS and its cool as ever, but what does the SS have that other Monte's dont. I know this year doesn't have the super charger so what are the big differences? thanks
yah it has leather..but thats not the appearance package...i mean the bigger body kit than is usually on the monte's, if you click on my gallery thats either in my profile or right above my sig then you can see the body kit on my car...its a little bigger than most of the other monte's

thats mine
little bit easier to see on this pic though

and this is the smaller ground effects kit...not too much of a difference..just a little bit different

and then this is the back end of mine

lol..sorry about how dirty the car is..lol

it all depends on the year. for 2000, the differences are badging, engine, exhaust, fog lights, and spoiler. those are the major differences that I can think of
From 2000-2003 the supercharges weren't avaliable. There were 2 levels of Montes LT and SS. LT had the smaller engine no ground effects and a single exhaust outlet. The reg SS had small ground effects (see Wiz Kidds pics) the larger engine, different wheels, a flat spoiler and dual exhaust without chrome tips. In the years I mentioned there was something called a "high sports apperance package" that added about 2k to the price of the car which included different wheels a NASCAR type spoiler, bigger ground effects with the choice of 2 toned color paint and chrome dual exhaust tips. 2004-2005 they added the supercharger. I think that if you got the supercharged version you automatically got the "high sports appearance package." Leather seats and sunroofs were avalible options on all Montes of this generation.
In '04, the difference in basic features of an SS & LS are:
foglamps
cruise control
different gauge cluster, adding oil pressure and voltmeter (supercharged having boost gauge instead of voltmeter)
"custom" cloth interior vs "sport" or leather
leather wrapped steering wheel w/ cruise & audio controls
axle ratio of 3.29 vs 2.86 (s/c has 2.93)
200 hp 3.8 engine vs 180 hp 3.4 (s/c has 240 hp)
dual exhaust
4 wheel independent sport-tuned suspension which includes:
4 wheel ABS
traction control
tire inflation monitor
34mm front, 19.5 rear sway bars
4 valve struts
variable rate rear springs
Goodyear Eagle RS-A "W" rated tires
16" sport cast aluminum wheels vs 16" steel wheels w/ covers
Of course many options are available, but this is the basics, per '04 sales brochure.
