Unhappy Trunk leaks

I am putting some kicker 12's in the trunk but ive been having issues withmy trunk leaking. Its a 2000 ss and it seems that the trunk has actually shifted to the passenger side a little. Has anyone else heard off such a thing im the only owner and it was the very first ss on the road along with the ls but too my question????? Is there a way to shift my trunk over like setting a hood and i also tryed to adjust the little bolts on hindge but only seems to raise or lower the quater panel/trunk line ...because of it being shifted there is a little gap in between the lower weather stripping..i thought of just putting some of the stick on door weather foam on just that corner but if there is a right way please let me know!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for your time

Hey there. My trunk was leaking too on my 2002 SS and I had to fix it after putting two twelve inch kickers in my trunk as well lol. I know you can adjust the height of the trunk but I am not sure about side to side. I had to buy a new weather seal for the trunk and I just stuck it in yesterday. The water was coming in under the weather seal. Some how it went under the seal and over the metal channel and into the trunk. It rained today and no water thank god so I am hoping it is fixed. Hopefully another member will chime in and help you a little more. Good luck with the kickers I know I love mine.

I love my kickers too. I got mine in a ported box with an alpine amp. I gotta stick them back in the car probably tomorrow after i'm sure the trunk doesn't leak anymore. That's crazy about your trunk shifting. Especially since it was never in an accident. I got my weather stripping from the dealer because I couldn't find it anywhere else. They had to order it from detroit. I paid like 105 dollars for it....a bit much for a peice of rubber if u ask me lol.

In an effort to lighten up the cars to increase fuel economy, the manufacturers have used lighter materials to make the hinges. In the old days you could slam the trunk closed to contain a suit case or anything else for that matter and no harm no fowl. On the new cars doing the same thing bends or tweaks the hinges. With your trunk lid closed look at the gap or body line all around the trunk and see if it is the same. If not the hinges need to be tweaked back. Take it to a body shop and they should tweak it for a nominal fee if any fee at all.
Welcome to the MCF.
