Default Strut tower brace

Does anyone have suggestions where I can find one ? New or used doesn't matter. I've got a 04 Supercharged SS that I fell needs to be stiffened up a bit plus it will add to the NASCAR look. Thank you for you help and advice.

i would suggest this,

http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results...ber=pk12456148

Perhaps someone can speak up, cause I don;t remember off the top of my head if the 04's had the larger sways.

if you do have the larger sways, then I would get this from gmpartsdirect

pt # 12498648
it's two STB's for 22.97. one for the front one for the rear.

I happen to have one....got it from ZZperformance.com. Wouldn't fit 3400 due to alternator clearance.

If you're interested, PM me.

This is for the front AND back? That's a GREAT price, until you add shipping, processing, and handling, and the price goes to $53.65! That's less than half of ZZPerformances STB's, until you figure labor. The '04's didn't come pre-drilled for the factory STB's, and I THINK you have to pull the struts to install them. I KNOW you have to drill holes in the towers. The cars equipped with factory STB's have nuts welded under the tower. How you going to bolt it in if you have a strut under there?

There are several mfg's out there of STB's. I know 1st hand that a front STB for a GP has a SLIGHTLY different spread than an '04 Monte, and the ZZP STB needs to be machined slightly to accomodate the spread difference. I'm not sure if ZZP will do that or not. I told them about the problem, but??? Adjustable ones wouldn't have that issue. But the ZZP STB's are STRONG.

Rear STB's are an easy bolt in.

you don't need to remove the struts to install the front STB. yeah they kill you on S&H, but still, it's cheaper than any STB AND you get two of them.

Well there ya go! Now we know they fit, and for $54, it's do the job. Keep in mind these are stamped steel, vs heavy duty 4130 welded steel. But the WHOLE CAR is stamped steel! Does it make any difference? Probably not. Get the GMPP parts # 1249864, $53.65 for the pair at gmpartsdirect.com.

yeah unless you are using your monte for auto cross, I probably would go for something solid, but for most of us, it works just fine!!!

No need to drill for front or rear strut bars. I have Dons rears on my 03. Worked like a champ.
