Are ya sure you're going to need a complete replacement? Sounds like something that could be fixed

Hi `Matt, & Welcome to the Monte Carlo Family.
Sorry to read that you are having a problem with your Monte Please check back on your thread question to see what our expert tech's post/suggest on your problem.

In your profile it states that you are a mechanic..Have you checked your associates in your area...Check with your parts stores to see if they know a good shop in your area to check out your prob's ? Wish you good luck 4-Sure.

I would go online and find some muscle car clubs in your area and fish around for info. It's pretty basic to fix an oil leak, but with other issues and being Supercharged you dont really want some Joe Blow having their hands all in your car. Find the guys with the nice Supercharged Mustangs etc. and see where they go for work, bet you will find a good shop that way. Bet your idiling issues are in some way the Supercharger or related components.

Hi, and welcome to the forum. I'm not a mechanic but I would suggest......Drain trans. fluid and reseal ...replace trans gaskets if any ?.........flush system completely out......check water pump and thermostat......replace oil pan gaskets and check your head gaskets.
I have 05 s/c SS also and have had no problems yet. You really need to stay with recommended coolant however. The 3.8 is rock solid motor; you may have just got a bad one off the assembly line. What's your milage ?
Good Luck.
