quick question for anyone who has a 2007 ss i just bought my first monte a month ago, about 500 miles into owning i went to check the oil and it looked like the dealership over filled my oil so i checked the manual and noticed there are two different dipsticks one for a v8 and one for v6 the dipstick i have in there ha s the cross hatch low and a twist in it which they show is the v6 stick so i went to a certified gm oem site order what i thought was the right one they sent me the same dipstick i have, and they are insisting it is the correct one am i crazy or is the manual wrong?
please help

 

I would call a local dealer and get the part numbers for the two dipsticks and then see if the oem site has the other. Might very well be using the same one these days.

 

i did do that and they told me the part was right just didn't know if anyone else noticed the same thing u probably right on them using the same one now instead of making two thanks for the help.
