Default noobie to the forum

just wanted to say hello to all the fellow monte lovers out there. im new to the forum, and have a 99 monte carlo im soon to be rebuilding. my wife got the car from her father back about 3 years ago, with 217,000 miles on it. the car ran great, was great on gas, and never gave us any problems. my wife and i have put about another 30,000 miles on the car since she got it, till unfortunately one day while driving home from a relatives house, the headgasket decided to go and the car over heated. antifreeze got into the oil, yadda yadda yadda, you know how it goes. well the cars been sitting for about a 6 months now behind the garage, and my wife will does not want to get rid of it, it a sentimental thing. it was one of the last things her father had given to her before he past away, so she wont part with it. well, the other day i was out back mowing the lawn, weedwacking around the property and decided to move the car out from behind the garage and pull it into the garage. i think i am going to do a nice restoration on it for her. the car is solid, no rust on it at all. black on black, sunroof, all electric inside. i am thinking of tearing out the 3.1, doing a complete rebuild on it, get her a nice sounding exhaust, nice set of rims and tires, redoing the brakes all the way around, tinting the windows, perhaps a nice factory z34 spoiler for the trunk, just freshin it up some for her. her dad was a big earnhardt fan, same as me, so i think i might go with an earnhardt inspired paint scheme, and interior for it. any ideas on aftermarket goodies you guys could give me would be greatly appreciated. i have been looking at some of the pics of some other forum members montes and like what i see and have gotten some great ideas. anyways, i just wanted to say hello, and look forward to making some new friends on here, and enjoying the forum.

welcome and good luck on your restoration. Adding some silver and red accents would look nice. I would paint up the engine a bit too.
