Default Newbie w/ 1985 SS

Hello all. I ran across this forum from a link on another G-body site (montecarloss.com). I own a 1985 Monte Carlo SS, and just recently sold my blue '84 SS this past summer (also had a parts car SS for a short time). There are several pics of the '85 below, including the custom functional T/A shaker hood that I finished up with paint this summer. I installed a Goodwrench 350 about 4-5 years ago after the original L69 spun a bearing. I have also hand sanded and polished a set of '86-88 wheels for it and painted them a dark charcoal grey. Other than that it is mostly stock with 200-4R trans, and 3.73 peg leg

For more info on this car and my '84 SS, feel free to check out my webpage.

I like to take a bunch of pics down by the lake at the end of the season... A wack of them turned out all fuzzy for some reason, but here are the better ones... pics are large - fair warning to the dial up guys

Thanks guys. The pics make it look nicer though I am hopefully purchasing an already blasted/painted frame from a guy in PA, then slowly start the ground up rebuild of this car. I originally just wanted to paint it, but I would be happier with a full restoration (I just hope I don't run out of money/interest!)

Thanks 85 I also like the '85s best overall - they have nicer and better looking one year only materials on the interior and still have the more agressive rear bumper. The only things I prefer on an '86+ are the side mirrors (which I have and may swap come paint time) and the wheels (which I already have). The stock '85 wheels have grown on me over time though.

Welcome to you as well, from one newbie to another![8D]

Whole heartedly agree. 86-88 whells on my 85 too. Love the 85 down rear clip. Ilike the round mirrors better though. I also have the black 88 interior trim on dash, instrument panel, radio cover, and shifter cover. man I love these cars.

Do you still have the stock brushed black '85 trim? If you do and would like to get rid of it, I would buy it all of you (if in good shape).

I do still have the brushed pieces, I thought they were grey, BUT they reside in my 88. I had it first but wanted the older tail and then swapped piece for piece. The radio cover was broken anyway- top right screw area. Sorry. Ill keep my eyes open in the salvage yards though, I get to them from time to time.

What about elec power mirrors from the Camaros? Hmm, that would be sweet.
