my name's mike i just recently bought a 2006 monte carlo lt. white with cream leather interior.
I'm wondering what some mods you guys have done to your car prefferably the 2006 models. example grills? interior? exterior? I had a 2006 cobalt before this that i did a bunch of mods to, nothing engine wise just dvd player , playstation, system, grill little things like that. I'm looking at getting 20's for my car too. for those who have them how do they ride? does it make the car look like a monster truck? would i have to lower it? Any issues that i should be aware of? other than that happy to be here

Hey the Mike! Heh, I know what you mean on the stock radio. I had half the dash pulled apart before I found a instructional on the web. http://www.bracketron.com/xmain/cust...mp;yearto=2007

Go there and click download instructional manuel. They talk about getting a special tool. If you would rather have it then go ahead, it's not terribly expensive, but in reality a good small screwdriver or a modified plastic putty knife (which is what I used) will work. Be careful, and work at the top two clips first. These are the tightest, and it's easy to crease the plastic bezel when pulling it off. I did that unfortunately so I'm working on getting a replacement, then doing it in the brushed aluminium looklike the main part of the dash (where the info center buttons are) or finishing it in some way to hide the crease.

Once that's done it's simple to remove, just a couple of screws. You have to remove the HVAC controls first, but they can just hang there. Then the stereo is held in by 4 screws and it's wiring plugs.

Good Luck!
