Just tell them that it is your only mode of transportation and you need to wait while it is completed. Most shops will schedule a proper time to have you come in, it really shouldn't take long.

Welcome to the site and congrats on the purchase. If it is in good shape keep what you have and mod it later on down the road. Also the dealer wants you to leave it because they can just fit it in when they get to it. Make them set a time and stick to it.
