Well after totaling my 1988 Corvette last month, I decided to do the responsible single parent thing and find a bigger vehicle. I picked up a very clean 2004 Monte Carlo SS Supercharged. Identical to the one ontop of the home page. I have to admit this car is a blast to drive and much quicker then I would have thought. I even managed to find a downloadable owners manual online.

Now.........any tricks to keeping a black car clean?

Welcome Len from GA to the MCF family. Single parent, huh? Been there, done that!
Got any pics yet? There is a REAL easy way to keep your black Monte looking good all the time.......Lock it in the Garage and don't drive it! Other than that, NEVER run it thru an automatic car wash, use microfiber wash mitts, and drying towels. I have been using Meguires NXT tech wax, and am pretty happy with that, but any high quality wax and polish will work.

Thanks for the welcome. Pics of the Vette? before or after the wreck. I had the car back one week after my buddy completely repainted it when a van swerved into my lane forcing me into a turn lane where I hit a traffic curb at 50mph, caught some air, put my head through the roof and totally destroyed the undercarriage. Pushed the motor up 4 inches, bent all 4 chrome wheels. I'll check into how to post a pic here and put some of the Vette AND the MC.[sm=patriot.gif]

Thanks Wayne for the welcome. I spent the whole day clay barring, polishing and waxing the SS and it looks awesome. It WILL sit in the garage all week. I have a vehicle for work. I tried turtle wax's new "liquid clay bar" and it works great. Messier then the regular clay bar but effective nonetheless.
