Hey everyone. I am from West Bend, WI. I just purchased an 02 SS and am looking forward to owning the car. I won't lie, I am a Ford guy, but I also like some GM products too. Just thought I would stop in and say hi.

Congrats on your 02 SS. What made a Ford guy buya Monte Carlo?

 

Hey Justin, welcome!! Glad you escaped the blueoval, even for just one GM. Chevy's the way to go, and you absolutely cannot go wrong with a Monte.

 

Welcome Justin to the MCF. Being from WI, I think you'll like the Monte in the winter, Put some good shoes on her, and that SS will go thru anything! We live 35 miles east of Lake Michigan, and get SERIOUS lake effect snow. Honestly, seeing all those large SUVs roll over is what makes me drive a car. Might not go thru the DEEP stuff like a big truck, but double the mpg makes it better. This is my 4th W-body, and my 2nd 6th gen Monte (Impalas before that). I was a F__d guy myself for YEARS, but I got tired of the fix or repair daily routine, and made the switch. No car is perfect, But I'm hoping your 02 SS will satisfy your needs for a great driving year round car.

 

I guess the main reasons that this Ford guy bought a Monte are the following....
1. I have always liked them.
2.My friends who are GM techs said they are reliable.
3. Quite honestly, the only good looking 2 door car Ford has been putting out is the Mustang, and I already have one.

 

Welcome to the family. I have 2 chevy's and a ford so no worries we share the love.

 

I like the current style of the Mustang. I seriously considered buying one the first year they came out (with the current body style). I was severely p***ed off at GM because they wouldn't sell the 04-06 GTO in Canada. Never did buy anything that year. Instead I waited a year or so. Glad I did. That's how I got my Monte.
