You got a great price, & Low miles for a 06
I like the new 3.5L & it has great power. There are not
to many performance mod's for that engine, but the one that
I drove ran out great, and got super MPG's.
It's a great looking Monte Carlo 4-Sure, and if you treat
your Monte with love, your Monte will love you back for
many years and miles.
Look forward to your future posts and contributions to the MCF.
Good Luck with your Monte & in Life.

I got my grill online, here is the URL:

http://www.usspeedonline.com/page/U/...-1077-0185-06Q

And yes it is real stainless steel. I love it, it looks great! I also got my floor mats from usspeedonline.com

The grill is pretty damn cheap too. I paid under a hundred bucks for it...

Good luck with you Monte! You will love it! And trust me, the 3.5L has more than enough power to get you into trouble! I know because the Monte has gotten me pulled over more times in the last two years i've owned it than my whole driving life!

If you havent figured it out already, try this, you will be amazed at the results! Slowly accelerate up to 35 MPH (and do not go over 35 or it won't work) once you get to 35, floor it, put the gas pedal on the floor, and that sucker will grab 1st gear and get you to 58MPH in 1st gear! and if you choose to go further (not that i'm encouraging you to) 2nd gear will continue to pull hard all the way to 98-100 MPH. I know I was pretty shocked the first time I did it...now its an addiction The bummer for me was that dame speedlimiter at 107MPH... I would have liked to get at least 120 out of it! LOL!

yeah, I hit 90 and backed off.... There might be a way to remove the limiter, o.o.....

I know what your talking about too, I usually get it up to 30ish and then just floor it and the power is amazing, my dad just bought a 2001 Z06 vette about two months ago too, they both have some power for their respective classes...

This car replaced my 1997 Dodge intrepid, it had a 3.5L v6 but the monte's engine has to have more to it, because it just freaking goes.....

I was hoping to get something w/ the 3.8 but oh well its not like its a huge difference.

Actually, the new 3.5L makes a few horse more than the stock 3.8L...stock the 3800 made 200HP even, and the 3500 makes 211HP. So your at no loss there!

The 3.8L puts out 225 ft. pounds of torque, and we are putting out 214 ft. pounds with the 3.5L...

So all in all, the power is identical to the 3.8L.

My mom has a 2000 Bonneville with the 3800, and power feels almost identical...However, my monte takes to Bonnie by almost 2 car lengths off the line...the Bonnie weighs about 300LBS more though. Anyway, trust me, your 3.5L is at no way a loss over the 3800.

Ok ok...So we can't get the aftermarket stuff that you 3800 people have, but stock for stock they are the same!

But you got me there! I wish really wish there was more aftermarket crap for the 3.5L
