Default New to the site, and new Monte Carlo owner!

Hello!

I just bought my new car, a 2006 Monte Carlo LS and am very excited to start working on it ...

I figured I needed to find a place to research and discuss before I started playing around

A few things I am looking at doing are as follows:

Installing Fog Lights.
Dual Exhaust.
Real rims :P (stupid hubcaps)
New hood. http://www.mpd-inc.net/mc.htm (Hawt)
K&N Air intake.
Installing steering wheel audio controls (dunno if that is even possible) (if I go with after market deck this is a non issue :P)

New deck, It has the basic GM stock deck. There was an XM antenna on
the car but I found that it wasn't hooked up to anything so I am pretty sure it dosn't support XM radio. Thinking about getting a double din touch screen nav system eventually. Debating between the GM and an aftermarket. The aftermarket will more then likely be cheaper :-P

I have done a little work to it so far. I painted the bottom of the front and rear bumper with a bedliner type matterial as the rear bumper was cracked so rather then spend tons of money on a new bumper I fixed it and painted over it w/ the bedliner stuff. It looks pretty good

Welcome to the forum!!!

Nice car...

That "XM antenna" is OnStar I would guess...that is if you have it. But if its the black thing on the roof toward the rear, that is OnStar.

Also, there is no K&N available for our 3.5L however, MPD, Inc. sells a cold air box that works with our engine. I ordered it about a week and a half ago...So once it comes and I install it, I will post about how I like it and everything...There is already a few member with the 3.5L/ 3.9L V6 that have installed the MPD cold air, and like it.

Nah, there were two antennas on the roof, one was an XM one with a magnet and the other is for the Onstar/radio. I think there might of been an aftermarket deck or an auxiliary XM system installed of some sort at one time.

That sucks about the K&N grr, oh well ill have to get the MPD one then... I want to get the hood too. My buddy threw the hood on his Impala it is freaking sexy

btw where did you get your grill (is it real stainless) if it is I wants
