New possible Monte Carlo member from IA
Hi guys, Im new here and Im looking at a Monte Carlo for my first car for High School. Would that be a good choice? One I'm looking at is a 2001 Monte Carlo SS with 118K. There are a few concerns I had. First, is it a little bit of a girly car? I think it is cool, but I just dont know. Second, is 118K to many miles? I have no experiance with Chevys, my dad is a Ford guy and my moms a Nissan person. TIA for your opinions!

First, welcome to the site!
Renegade there are a lot of dudes on the site that would take exception to the statment that a 2001 SS is a "girly" car.
Unless it is an x Mary Kay car and painted pink.
118k for a 2001? heck that thing ain't even broke in yet
Sorry to hear about your parents
Any way what kind of shape is this ride in? How much is the seller asking? Has it had Regular maintence? Are the tires any good? tell us more about it

Welcome to the forum, man! I'm a member from the Cedar Rapids area. Where you located?
The Monte Carlo SS is in no way, shape, or form, a "girly" car. It's pure, American, badassery on the outside, and luxurious, and spacious on the inside. It will run forever because it's a Chevy so 118k miles is nothing!
With a few modifications, this car could be completely different from the rest! I say buy it, and have fun!
That's just my two cents.
P.S. Be sure to check the history, condition, etc. The Monte Carlo is an awesome car, but if the owner didn't treat it with the respect it deserves, it could be in rough condition.

welcome to the site, as far as "girly" girls and guys drive them to me they are more of a guy car though, I thinks some girls would take offense to calling things girly, if you really mean like sissy or something lol and not 118k is not high miles.

Thanks for the replies all. For people who asked about the car, it is in excellent condition, the tires are at about 50%, and they are asking $5400. To My00Monte, im up in Ankeny. You've all convinced me that it isn't a girly car. If you want to see the pics of the car here they are: In and Out Auto - 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo 2dr Cpe SS - In and Out Auto

Get the fax on the car if that is good ****** that puppy up before someone else does!
That ride is CLEAN!
I always like to dicker with car salesmen. See if they will take 5 grand even and save your self 400 bucks not that the car isn't worth it but why pay more if you don't have to? Then you have 400 bucks for mods
