Hi Forrest,
Thanks for posting your pic's of your Awesome 86SS
I envy you...., It's amaz'in that your year SS is going on 22 years old,
and still has a classic style of it's own.
I love your transplant `power, plus it's a Bad V-8 with
Rear Burn'in Tires : )
Body looks in great shape/condition.
She's a beauty...Wish you good/fun/safe miles in your SS.
Some are luckier, then others : )

Hey you guys, to a couple of the questions:
The motor, transmission, suspension, brakes, and all the work done totalled around $24,174 dollars. The car was done by a dealership over an 8-month long project. I have a personal mechanic who took out the old 305 etc. and did everything by himself (Thanks Roy!) over the entire project. I was only charged $1200 in labor! I made a deal with the dealership to just work on the vehicle when they didn't have much work at the time, and weekends. In the end it paid off very well, they took very good care of it and made sure it all ran perfectly.
Little History:
I purchased the vehicle from a guy who owned a Goodyear dealership, and the only time this vehicle was out of it's garage was to go to car shows to show of Goodyear's new brand of tire for that year. So it has been babied all it's life, and I'm the 2nd owner. Bought it for $8,000 dollars. Everything is original (except for the obvious) Never been wrecked,ORIGINAL PAINT, and BODY!(STILL!)All the numbers matched and it was just a superb machine. I did this upgrade because the 180hp 305 didn't justify the SS name, now I beleive it fully meets SS criteria. Funny thing is I wasn't even born when this vehicle rolled off the assembly line
Note: When purchased had 110,000 miles, now has 131,000

Sweet car man. I've always wanted a black 86 ss, since thats when i was born i thought it would be neat. The problem though is that i live in PA and they are all rot buckets if you can afford them and if they are in good shape they aint worth the money they wanted for them. And then there was the 305 issue... i dont know why but i just cant drive anything with a 305. so i ended up lookin for a newer monte and found a black 04 the bonus was that it happens to also be an intimidator... good luck with the car
