hey guys, im new here. Just got a 2001 Monte Carlo LS with the Sport Appearance Package. only has 43,000 miles on it and it is in mint condition. I plan to replace the head unit because the tape player in it doesnt play nice with adapters. I will post pictures soon.

Welcome.

Keep in mind you won't be able to access the settings with a different head unit.

Post pics when you can.

x2, most things are still able to be done like low tire pressure and oil light, but there are a few things that will need to be taken to the dealer if you don't have the stock headunit, not a whole lot of things tho

thanks for the tips. the only reason i want to put a new head unit is because the cassette tape thing does not play nice with my adapter, ive tried 2 different ones, and it will only play sound out of one side of the stereo, or very low volume on the other. Works fine for the radio and CD, but yea.
