Hello All. Just traded in a 06 HHR LT2 for a 06 MC LTZ. The HHR was fun, but I felt so cramped, and the four cylinder would go if you had patience to wait for it to wind up.
I had a 04 MC SS, and regretted getting rid of it. It had the 3.8, I'm thinking the 3.9 I have now will have a little more muscle. Anyway just to say hi to the group. I'm from Central Montana and waiting for the spring. We've had a mild winter so I can't complain, but warmer temp's would be nice.

Welcome - Wish you Safe/Happy miles in your new Monte.

Keep the forum posted on your new ride. I am curious on how you would compare the 3.8 vs the new V-6 3.9 ? How about MPG difference ? Do you notice the improvements on your 06 LTZ vs your former SS ? Hope to see you post some pic's of your new LTZ. Look forward to reading your future post. Good Luck !

SpaceRider,

I'll try to get up some pics asap. Chevy really changed the front, back and inside, more than I thought. I like the electronics, you can actually track the exact air pressure of your tires. I like the new instant mpg and the average mpg. You also get percentage of oil, and alot of other readouts. I believe the 04 3.8 was rated at just 205 hp and the 3.9 is rated about 3.45 hp. I'm thinking this 3.9 has more poop. It puts me back in the seat and the exhaust sound is even good for a V6. I can't tell on gas mileage yet, but from my first trip I was making about 27 mpg at 75 mph. That's the same as I was getting with my HHR and that 4 cylinder sure had to make noise on hills. I can't hardly hear the 3.9. Going to design some Taz decals for the back and back sides.
Want some graphics, but just to a point, if you know what I mean. I follow Harvick, Ernnart Jr, and Marlin in NASCAR.

Later dudes....

I have an '06 Monte Carlo LTZ as well and can tell you it gets a little better gas mileage than the old 3.8 s/c engine. It has a lot more power and is light years more refined than the old Monte. I really love it. Much better fit & finish as well.
